Our Master Winemaker,  Victor Cruz makes fine wines that have captured the attention of critics and connoisseurs alike.  His Cañon de Sol creations have swept awards from the very beginning.  The Syrahs are velvety smooth while the Cañon de Sol Merlots have an exotic spice. Victor describes his wines as rich and bold.  They are drinkable at an early age and get better over time. 

Victor Cruz, may look like a typical Vintner and Winemaker, but he also holds the distinction of being the first Hispanic to own a winery in Washington state. Since establishing Cañon de Sol Winery in 1999, his award-winning wines continue to impress the industry and customers.

If Victor's smiling face looks vaguely familiar, it's because he has been featured in numerous magazine and newspaper stories about winemaking and fine Washington state wines and has even been on television as a part of a story on Cañon de Sol winery.

Victor grew up in Eastern Washington and after college went to work as an engineer for Westinghouse at their Hanford facility. After an 18 year career with Westinghouse, Victor established Cañon de Sol with his wife Kim and for the last decade, he has produced highly sought after Syrah, Meritage, Merlot, Viognier and Red Table wines for his customers enjoyment. Victor's wines can sometimes be a little hard to find as they are often allocated with 50% to 60% pre-sold prior to being released. You can usually fine Cañon de Sol wines at fine restaurants and a few select retailers in Washington state and nearby.  You can find those locations on our Friends of Cañon de Sol pages.
